Tanis sent me a link to like Kirsty Mitchell's photography and I fell in love!!!

At least one of these will probably end up going to my Portrait Photography course, but here's three awesome sets for now!

Okay, so, due to technical difficulties through blogger, this week's photos can be found here:
(excuse that mess as it gets completely set up, but, the photos are there!)

Body
(But here's a preview of the only ones that didn't get completely distorted.)

Week Eight Reading

Inducing Empathy
Tony Oursler
304-313
"Paranoic, demented, tormented, demonic, hallucinatory-any of these words can be used to describe Tony Oursler exhibitions." WHY AM I SO ATTRACTED TO THESE TYPES OF THINGS? I honestly saw the words "tormented" and "hallucinatory" as I was flipping through the book trying to find a reading, and I instantly stopped to read simply based off of this first sentence. I feel like that says a lot about me...and I'm aware that I'm drawn to "psychological disturbances" and I really admire artists that put the extreme on display like Oursler does. There were just so many statements in this reading that I agreed with, with this artist that I agreed with. I think one of the only things that got me was that he doesn't see his work as self-expressionism, but I think to produce things of this nature there has to be at least a little bit of personal experience in it. Overall I'm just fascinated with this artist, I want to see an exhibition now, and I really admire such daring work that forces people to become aware of psychological struggles and how exposed to "horror-sex-violence" that we really are.

Also: Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (on blog previously) came back into play, and Holidays/Tim Burton played a role.

(Some of these might still be in progress, and I might also be adding more, so please excuse my mess. Also on the screen that I'm currently on the Blogger preview of the photos are showing up different and usually lighter than what they actually are, so that may be happening on your screen as well. Trying to figure this out.)

Also: Gaby Photo Transfer In Progress
(I'm thinking of adding more layers of transfers for this one? Then possibly adding in paint, or not.) This week was about experimentation and trying first ideas. This is all to be worked on and made better, is the goal.
